The Minister has announced the inclusion of pharmacists on the PMSOL as follows:

  • Hospital Pharmacist (251511)
  • Retail Pharmacist (251513)
  • Industrial Pharmacist (251512)

The Australian Government will support pharmacies across Australia through skilled migration in assistance with the COVID-19 vaccine roll out.

The inclusion of these three occupations brings the PMSOL to 44 in total.

The PMSOL affords priority processing to the following employer sponsored visa subclasses:

Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482)

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494)

Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) (subclass 186)

Temporary Sponsored Parent (subclass 870) Offshore visa concessions

An instrument has been added to the Migration Act to provide an 18 month concession to SC 870 visa holders unable to initially enter Australia or stuck outside Australia due to the COVID-19 Australian Border Force restrictions.

The instrument pertains that the SC 870 visa must be in effect on 1 July 2021 and the holder of the SC 870 visa must be outside Australia on 1 July 2021. Then, the period of the effect of the SC 870 visa will end 18 months after the date specified under the SC 870 visa.

This legislative instrument will commence 30 July 2021.
