Business Innovation and Investment (Subclass 188A) Visa Victorian Nomination Update – Change of Business
The Victorian state government has recently updated its procedure for managing change of business processes for all those nominated from 4 January 2021 onwards under the Business and Innovation (subclass 188) visa via the Business Innovation Stream.
The Victorian Government expects all applicants to undertake the business proposed in their initial SC188A nomination application.
However, in some circumstances it may be deemed necessary to change the initial business proposal due to circumstances beyond the applicants control. If the applicant decides to change their business activity initial proposal provided in their Victorian subclass 188 nomination application the applicant must seek advice from the Victorian Government’s Skilled and Business Migration Program before undertaking the new business activity.
The applicant must also ensure the new business activity complies with:
- All relevant Victorian visa nomination conditions, and
- The Department of Home Affairs’ Business Innovation and Investment (subclass 888) visa criteria.
Businesses that will not be accepted by the Victorian state government include:
- Property development
- Gift stores
- Convenience stores
- Cafes or restaurants
