Skilled Visa Occupation List Update – STSOL and MLTSSL – 17 January 2018

The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has advised the changes to the lists of eligible skilled occupations for Australia’s skilled migration visa programs that will come into effect 17 January 2018.

The changes relate to the two occupation lists that are:

• Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) and;
• Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)

The changes include:

• Occupations that have been added to the lists of eligible skilled occupations
• Occupations that have been moved between the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) and the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) for specific visa programmes
• Occupations that have removed from the lists of eligible skilled occupations

Occupations that have been added to the STSOL

The below occupations have been added to the Short-term Skilled Occupation List

Occupations that have been moved from STSOL to MLTSSL

The below occupations have moved from the Short-term Skilled Occupation List to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)

**No occupations moved from MLTSSL to STSOL

Occupations that have been completely removed from the lists

Occupations that have been removed from the lists of eligible skilled occupations

Occupations with changes to the caveat requirements

The occupations below will remain on their existing list however some occupations have included a caveat, a wording amendment of the caveat or a amendment of the caveat
