Ira is a Legal Assistant at Ethos Migration Lawyers.
She was drawn to immigration law as it’s her career goal to work as an immigration lawyer.
Having secured her permanent residency, she brings to the table not only a lived experience in the Australian migration process but also a passion for international law.
Ira is an admitted lawyer of the Supreme Court of Victoria. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics, Law and International Relations) from Symbiosis International University.
She is a Qualified Education Agent Counsellor (QEAC # V187) and has studied the Migration Institute of Australia’s ‘Immigration Essentials™ for Lawyers’.
Beyond her professional experience she describes herself as an advocate and activist. As a volunteer with Melbourne Activist Legal Support (MALS), she is trained as a Legal Observer, actively protecting, and asserting civil rights by monitoring police behaviour at protests. She is also a mental health advocate, sustainability activist and climate optimist. In her free time, you can find her at the yoga studio.
