What is SkillSelect?

SkillSelect is an online interactive program that allows the Australian Government to manage the amount of skilled migrants migrating permanently to Australia. It automatically assesses applicants based on their points score and invites the highest scoring applicants to lodge visa applications.

Essentially, the higher your points score is, the more likely you are to receive an invitation by the Department of Home Affairs to apply for a visa.

It is important to note that lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) is not a visa application, and you will not receive any bridging visa by doing so. It is therefore important you have enough time in Australia on your substantive visa to enable you to lodge an Expression of Interest, receive an invitation and apply for the visa.
