Permanent Residency Pathway Announced for SC482 Regional Occupation Visa Holders
Adding to the previously announced changes relating to Permanent Residency pathways for TSS Visa holders with occupations on the STSOL list, the Department has further announced that TSS (Subclass 482) Visa holders that have remained in Australia for at least one year between 1 February 2020 and 14 December 2021 and at the time of application are lawfully employed will be eligible to apply for the ENS (Subclass 186) Visa via the Temporary Resident Transition stream.
This concession has now extended to sponsored visa holders with occupations on the Regional Occupation List (ROL) which were previously not eligible.
Applicants for this visa will have to meet all other standard criteria, such as:
- Subclass 482 (ROL) visa holders must have worked full-time in their nominated occupation for their employer for at least three of last four years as the holder of this visa
- The employer must be eligible to sponsor them again for a permanent position
When will the changes come into effect?
The Department has confirmed that this pathway is currently available for eligible visa holders with occupations on the ROL, and eligible visa holders can apply now.
