Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) Increasing as of 1 July 2024

From 1 July 2024, the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will be increased from $70,000.00 to $73,150.00.

All new employer nomination applications that are submitted on or after 1 July 2024 must meet the new TSMIT of $73,150.00 or the Annual Market Salary Rate (AMSR), whichever is higher.

This TSMIT increase affects the following visas:

This increase to the TSMIT does not impact or apply to any current TSS 482 visa holders, or nominations/visa applications lodged prior to 1 July 2024.

Action Required

Employers planning to submit nominations for the TSS SC482 visa, ENS SC186 Direct Entry Stream, or Regional Sponsored SC494 visa will need to ensure the annual salary being offered to the nominee is at least $73,150.00 plus superannuation.

Labour Market Testing (Job Advertising) for positions that will be nominated after 1 July 2024 should also be updated to ensure the proposed salary or salary band is above the new TSMIT of $73,150.00.
