FY23-24 NSW Skilled Migration Nomination Program Open
The 2023-2024 Skilled Migration State Nomination Program is now open to eligible applicants living in New South Wales and overseas, with new changes from last financial year.
The changes include a new approach to evolve skills shortages across the state. New South Wales will now focus on priority sectors rather than skilled occupation lists. High ranking EOIs submitted in non-priority sectors may still be considered, but main focus is given on priority sectors that need skilled talent.
The NSW target sectors are:
- Health
- Education
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Infrastructure
- Agriculture
To be considered for sate nomination in NSW, you must meet the following basic eligibility requirements:
- Meet all visa requirements outlined by the Department of Home Affairs;
- Hold a valid Skills Assessment for an occupation in a priority sector as outlined by NSW;
- Must be residing in NSW and have continuously resided in NSW for a minimum period of six months, or
- Currently residing offshore and have continuously resided offshore for a minimum period of six months.
Invitation Rounds
There are no predetermined dates set for the invitation rounds. However, the next Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190) invitation round is anticipated to commence on 2 October 2023.
