COVID-19 – Clarification on Job Keeper Payments for Visa Holders in Australia

The Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg have just announced a $1,500.00 a fortnight ‘job keeper’ payment to eligible employers.

Ethos Migration Lawyers would like to confirm that these payments will not apply to temporary visa holders in Australia but will apply to New Zealand Citizens on Special Category Visa’s (subclass 444).

At this stage, no information has been provided with regard to any support that may be offered to temporary visa holders in Australia however the Government has confirmed that they are currently making arrangements for temporary visa holders.
