Tony Tan Nguyen is a Lawyer at Ethos Migration Lawyers and a member of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association (AALA). He represents clients across a broad range of complex immigration matters, bringing a dedicated and practical approach to every case.

Prior to joining Ethos Migration Lawyers, Tony gained valuable litigation experience in personal injury before transitioning into migration law. He previously worked at a major Australian migration firm, specialising in protection visas, complex partner visa applications, and s 501 character cancellations, including representing clients in General Division matters before the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART).

Tony is recognised for his strong advocacy and commitment to achieving results in high-stakes tribunal litigation. Notably, he successfully represented the applicant in Pham and Minister for Immigration and Citizenship (Migration) [2025] ARTA 2458, securing a favourable outcome in the General Division of the tribunal.

Tony holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting from Australian Catholic University, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law. Complementing his legal qualifications, Tony holds a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and works as an ELICOS educator, supporting international students in developing their language skills.

Combining his legal training with his background in language education, Tony excels at communicating complex statutory concepts in clear, accessible terms for clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Tony’s practice is deeply motivated by his family history, inspired by his parents’ journey escaping Vietnam in the late 1980s to seek a better life. This background drives his strong empathy for clients and his passion for guiding individuals and families through complex legal pathways.
