Temporary Suspension of Offshore Nomination Applications from Northern Territory State Government
Northern Territory General Skilled Migration Update – Temporary Suspension of Offshore Nomination Applications (subclass 489/190)
The Northern Territory Department of Trade Business and Innovation (DTBI) has today announced that they are placing a temporary suspension on nomination applications for the Skilled Regional Nominated (Provisional) subclass 489 and Skilled Nominated subclass 190 program.
This only applies for offshore applicants, which are applicants who are not in the Northern Territory. This suspension will remain in effect until 1 July 2017.
The suspension is due to their upcoming introduction of an online application system and the recent changes to the General Skilled Migration program by the Australian Government.
In summary, applicants who are not in the Northern Territory and have not been issued a Migration Northern Territory File Number (Eg: BSM2017/XXXX) will not have their application processed. These applicants have been encouraged to reapply after 1 July 2017.
This suspension does not affect:
- Applicants who are in the Northern Territory
- All Business Innovation and Investment Program Applicants
If you are an offshore applicant and have been affected by this suspension, it is recommended that you seek professional advice for your next steps.
